Watercolors by Lori

I learned to draw with colored pencil and graphite when my children were little, but didn't do anything with it outside of hanging a few things in my home. Thirty years later I tried watercolor, but found the loose, flowing style difficult and almost gave up... until I found a photorealistic watercolor instructor, took some classes, and was able to use my affinity for detail in the medium. 

I gravitate to painting waterbirds and coastal landscapes, and create Giclée prints and notecards of them, and well as Florida themed Christmas cards during the holiday season. 

My husband and I are originally from NJ but have lived in south Florida, the Atlanta area, then in Jacksonville for the last 20 years. We live in Ormond Beach, and absolutely love this part of Florida.
